The truth about the UFO has now been revealed
People across the UK were stunned last night after seeing a spiral orb glowing in the night sky.
Residents of areas of Greater Manchester, Derbyshire, Lancashire, Staffordshire, as well as other parts of the country, raised the alarm after spotting the UFO.
Brits took to social media to share their concerns at seeing the mysterious flying object.
“Anyone else just see this in the sky? It just kept spinning,” one person wrote on Facebook.
“Has anyone else just seen this over Radcliffe in the sky because me and the kids are freaked out,” a second penned.
“What have we just seen? It was moving and then faded away after about two minutes and there were other small what looked like stars moving around it too.”
While a third put: “Did anyone else just see this swirling thing in the sky? It was spinning round and then went off into the distance.”
Thankfully, it doesn’t look like we’re about to be invaded by aliens, as scientists have revealed there is an explanation behind the mysterious UFO.
The glowing orb is believed to have been caused by the launch of Elon Musk’s SpaceX rocket launch in the US yesterday.
A Falcon 9 rocket launched at 13:50 local time in Florida (17:50 GMT) on a classified US government mission.
The Falcon 9 rocket is reusable, which means it releases whatever it is carrying once it reaches the correct altitude, so the payload can then continue its journey into space.
At this point, the Falcon 9 turns around to go back to Earth, and releases whatever fuel it has left.
This fuel freezes instantly because of the altitude, and the rocket’s movement causes it to create a spiral.
Light then reflects off the fuel, which is likely what caused the glowing spiral that many Brits spotted in the night sky yesterday.
Astronomer Allan Trow said the orb was visible from Bannau Brycheiniog national park in Wales at 20:00.
Although he had seen the phenomenon four years earlier, he told the BBC that “these are pretty rare.”
