The Fire Stick is cheaper than Black Friday

Amazon’s spring sale is live and it is good news for sport fans because the Fire Stick is cheaper than its Black Friday price.

So sports fans can watch their favourite sport completely legally using the discounted device.

The Amazon Fire Stick comes in three variations; the HD Fire Stick, the 4K version and the 4K Max Fire Stick.

The HD Fire Stick price is currently cheaper than Black Friday at just £24.99.

This is down from £39.99 as it’s got a hefty 38% discount during the Amazon spring sale – which is running until 31 March.

For those who want to watch sports streams the best option might be the Fire Stick 4K to get the best picture quality and to prevent streams buffering.

The Fire Stick 4K Max is the most expensive dropping from £69.99 to £44.99 in the sale, while the 4K version is £34.99 instead of the usual price of £59.99.

So if you want to pay a little bit more for even higher quality streaming then you can still get a discount on those models.

The HD Fire Stick is currently cheaper than Black Friday at £24.99.

Fire Sticks have hit the headlines for allowing for illegal streaming of sports, with authorities suggesting people could face hefty fines and prison sentences for watching illegal streams.

The device can also be used for legal streaming though. Popular streaming services including Sky Sports, TNT Sports, DAZN, Apple TV and Netflix can all be installed on the Fire Stick and viewers can watch them without a full contract.

The trick is to do something called ‘leapfrogging’, which is a way to skip between shorter, cheaper subscriptions to watch the sport you want to watch without signing up to expensive year-long contracts.

A Sky Sports contract is currently priced at £22 per month, or you can get a bundle which also includes Netflix for £35 per month.

But if you don’t want to be locked into a contract then Fire Stick users can opt for a Now TV pass, which can give you access to a channel for a single day, week or month for a one-off payment.

Amazon Prime Video is also available on the Fire Stick and fans can watch the channel’s Champions League games and a full set of Premier League fixtures in December by setting up a free trial here. That will give access to Amazon Prime, which in turn will allow you to stream all Amazon football games on a Fire Stick for a month.

The upcoming Prime Video games include Arsenal vs Real Madrid on 8 April and Aston Villa vs PSG on 15 April, which you can stream with a contract on the Fire Stick.

Once you’ve streamed the games you can cancel your subscription and enjoy either your 30-day free trial, or just pay a one-off month payment of £8.99.
